Coming together in person allows members of the Afterlives network important moments to reflect, connect and share their research ideas and experiences in relation to the missing and the dead. Typically carrying on work in their own respective fields, these moments allow for new members to connect to the network, to learn and develop ideas in an interdisciplinary context, for mentorship and for collegial exchange.
